Variational multiscale method for fully coupled thermomechanical interface contact and debonding problems

In this study, a computational framework is proposed for thermomechanical contact and debonding problems with proper thermal resistance at the interface. Using Variational Multiscale (VMS) framework, we present fully coupled formulation an explicit expression of pressure The considers quasi-static balance momentum transient heat transfer problem in fashion. At interface, two different constitutive models are utilized tension compression. For tensile problems, mechanical phase, model employed, whereas displacement-dependent employed. compressive Coulomb frictional employed while pressure-dependent embedded. Because naturally derived interface stability terms that possess area- stress-weighting, VMS accommodates contact/debonding contact/frictional sliding due to both loading without losing numerical stability. method applied class test discontinuity interfaces, good agreement analytical data achieved.
